I'm almost certain that we have to apply for the scholarships the high school gives out. In fact, I was on the scholarship selection committee last year for the '03 crowd. Yes, yes, it was supposed to be confidential, but that was last year, so I can admit the fact that I was on the committee, right? Ah well. Anyway, it's a group of people, two of them are juniors, one is a teacher, then the counselor and school board people and what-not, and each member of the group gets a copy of everyone's application, essay, transcript, and letters of reccommendation. So--a word to the wise--don't put anything in those essays that you wouldn't mind a random top-of-their-class-ish junior to be reading, because I got to do it last year, hehehe. Some of the stuff was very entertaining. I was brutal in ranking those who had crappy essays. Anyway, I'm getting off topic. I hope you gals enjoyed my scandal-ridden exposé of the scholarship world at CHS.
College!
Welcome one, welcome all, WELCOME to the official "Let's get out of High School as soon as humanly possible!" blog. This blog was formerly known as "Future Cougars of America," but as the college admissions process winds down, it's probably more beneficial to us all if we open this up to everyone as a general college blog. So enjoy, damn it! :-)
