Damn the world of college textbooks!
After a little thought and consideration, I decided to drop German and take up French. German is just getting old, even though I technically don't know anything German.
So, just now I toted my $120 German text back to the campus bookstore and picked up the $140 French book. When I brought them to the counter to undergo the exchange, I was informed that I would only get half back because I had opened the plastic on the three German books bound together.
In sum, my impatience to open my textbooks has cost me over $60. Those meanies. I promptly told the woman behind the counter that I wouldn't opt to sell them back the book at half-off. Sure, I bought the French book, but I kept the German one, too, and I'll try to sell it to someone else.
Otherwise, college is going okay. It's only Day One of classes, so who knows?
College!
Welcome one, welcome all, WELCOME to the official "Let's get out of High School as soon as humanly possible!" blog. This blog was formerly known as "Future Cougars of America," but as the college admissions process winds down, it's probably more beneficial to us all if we open this up to everyone as a general college blog. So enjoy, damn it! :-)

Just a follow-up to my story:
Someone just bought my German books from me, and I was paid $100. That's much better than $60.
