I'm kinda bitter I didn't win a fridge at post-Prom. I might be bitter about not winning anything, but I'm just going to say that I'm bitter about not winning the fridge. Let's isolate the frustration.

Sooo... college related stuffs. I guess I don't really have a lot of news for you kids. The only letters I've got in the mail from UM-Morris lately are study abroad/reserch related brochures and what not. If I want to keep stickin' with film making, I'm probably going to have to do my own research, b/c there really isn't much of a program. But maybe I'll go along with the other 80% of college students and find a different major like Management or something uninteresting and suburbanitely like that. *weeps*

If predictions are my game, here are a pitch for you. Laveda, Lana, and Giles will win the Arts and English scholarship, mark my words. You guys might be playing the humble card, but you know the truth. You are all well-educated with extreme talent oozing out of your ears (and you have the bling bling to prove it), so who else is going to win it? Lana and I agree that Laveda pretty much has it in the bag as far as extra-curriculars are concerned, so y'all are the other two. I can honestly say that I think I have a better chance of winning the School Spirit scholarship then the Arts and English scholarship. My A&E scholarship essay was flat. My school spirit scholarship had sap dripping from its pores. Which is really sad b/c I want to burn the damn building to the ground.

Oh well. I guess we won't really know the truth until the 10th or 28th. I can't say that the Athletic banquet will be too exciting. A lot of sitting for me, a lot of award-recieving for other people. Don't discourage drinking with a beer bottle in your hand, it confuses the children.

Cigar-smoking short stop,

Yees yees, I'm applying for the Artsy-Smartsy Scholarship. Frankly, I was expecting YOU two *indicates fellow bloggers* to get the scholarships. For the third? I'd say probably Laveda (Princess Bacon) or Shania or Polly or Morrie or Tessie. D'you like my quick nicknames? ;) Right now I'm not expecting anything in terms of scholarships for myself.

Registration was a total blast and I'm uber esited for college now. My schedule's very fun, though we're gonna see if I can bypass "Class Voice" (since I have a background in singing and voice lessons already) and jump right in with independent study/lessons. I'm sending my housing thingee in tomorrow...I didn't meet a roommate, shucks. So, that'll be an adventure! :) I REALLY want to get Pine, so I hope that I'll make the first-come-first-serve thang.

25 plus 25 equals 45...remember that kiddos,

Badump-ching! Thank you, New York, I'll be here all week!

I'm assuming all of y'all will be applying for that Artsy/Englishy scholarship for $1950, right? Personally, I think you two (points to fellow blogging Cougars) will get it. Don't know about the 3rd, though. One boy, one girl, and one other. Perhaps my future crusacean roomie will get it? Is that considered an other?

Weld me tender,
Manda

Be not afraid, Manda, be not afraid. I don't have any hermit crab experience (in the literal sense, that is) but I would assume that your future roomie sure does. I would be proned to thinking that you'll be fine with a few fellow crustaceans. Plus, they could star as the lead roles in your filmmaking debut.

And you thought I'd be the crabbiest kid on campus.

April 10, 2004

Does anyone know if hermit crabs are prone to escaping from their containers? B/c my roomie wants to have a couple in the dorm, but I don't really want any unwanted visitors crawling in my bed in the wee hours of the morning... eep. I have little to no animal expertise. Fill me in folks.

Ooozy little buggers,
Manda

Oh UMM blog how I've neglected you. I feel like a horrible person...but it's ok, all is well, Quicia is back! ;)

So yeah, I got my dorm thingee in the mail, I'm uber excited. I think you guys already know my plans for dorming...I'm utterly attached to Pine Hall. So yeah, if that goes to plan, I'll be on the other side of the ginormous (*wink*wink*) campus from you guys. I'll come and visit you if you visit me! :) Oh and two thumbs up to you guys for picking Indy, I liked it a lot more than Gay.

So yeah, I have registration on the 20th, very exciting! I'm a little apprehensive about the placement tests...they'll probably be like, "We let YOU in?! Out out damn spot!" and send me back home with my tail between my legs and a recommendation letter for Mayville. ;) However, I am very excited to actually register. Maybe I'll have Manda's luck and get a roommate in the same day! That would eliminate the possibly stressful wait to find out who this mystery person is.

Anywhore, that's about all I have right now. Glad to be back!

PS: I got a b-day card, too! Talk about making sure people confirm, huh? I'm hooked! ;)

The kind sirs and madams and UMM sent me a birthday card. Awww... How sweet. They really do love you at UMM.

Anyhow, I haven't made dorm plans. I haven't even signed up for a registration date. I'm a big loser when it comes to my collegiate obligations lately. *sigh* I think I'll live in Indy, just because I think that's where I'll live. I guess that means I'll be asking Manda for cups of sugar and the like. And when I get locked out of my room naked, I'll know where to hide.

Maybe we should plan a summer road trip to Morris. We can scope out all of the hotspots in town.

Exciting news kids! I got my housing info in the mail today, so y'all should be getting yours soon. Oh, and I already know who my roommate is. She and my mom mingled very well at Registration, and they suggested getting to know each other better to see if we could be roomies. Her name is Alex, I think she's from Wayzata. She's got a lot of allergies to fragrances and candles and stuff, so that's awesome for the both of us. She danced competitively for 12 years, but quit after it got too expensive so she's a cheerleader now, and wants to Cheer for UMM. But she also plays rugby, so she ain't a wimpy cheerleader. She's going to double major in Bio and Psychology, she wants to be a vet. We've been corresponding a little over email since last Thursday, and I think we're going to get along well. I can't say we'll be super-dooper compatible, but I wasn't really compatible with my HOBY and RYLA roommates, and I think in some cases that works out better.

Oh, and I think I'm rooming in Indy if anyone cares. Tower B has sinks in the rooms, and I really like that. If anyone wants to accompany me in Indy, I wouldn't mind. :-) I love you, I love you all.

Oh and if anyone else knows anyone else who should be invited to the blog, just give me their email... and all will be well. Oh and good job/good luck Speechers! I'm sure I'd be at Sections right now if I had stayed in Speech. *laughs ass off until lungs have imploded*
